Real Madrid decide to sell Gareth Bale this summer as Manchester United could make new move
Manchester United could make a fresh move for Gareth Bale as Real Madrid have decided to sell the forward this summer, according to reports in Spain. The Wales international was benched for Madrid’s win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last week and was also used as a late substitute in the victory over Leganes on Wednesday evening. Bale has started only 13 games in all competitions for Madrid this season due to injury, while the 28-year-old has struggled to perform when given playing time. According to Marca, Madrid’s hierarchy have already reached the decision to sell Bale at the end of the season.

(Icon Sport) The report claims that despite the inflated transfer fees in recent years, nobody at Madrid expects to make a profit on Bale and the Spanish champions would have accepted a €90 million [£80m] offer from Manchester United last summer. Jose Mourinho had indicated that United would be prepared to make a move for Bale, but only if Madrid suggested that the player was for sale.
